ANTIOCH, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man has died after he was shot multiple times at an Antioch apartment complex early Sunday morning.

It happened at the Overlook Apartments, located at 727 Bell Road, at 5:40 a.m.

Metro police say the 21-year-old victim had just gotten out of a taxi when he got into a confrontation with someone in a small silver car. He was then shot and the suspect sped away.

Officers found the victim lying in a breezeway with multiple gunshot wounds after a resident called 911 after hearing the gunfire.

He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he later died. Officials will confirm his identity at the Medical Examiner’s Office on Monday.

Detectives combed the complex for evidence during the investigation.
