Distant wildfires cause smoky, hazy sky in Middle Tennessee

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Distant wildfires are having a local impact. On Sunday, parts of Middle Tennessee saw smoky and hazy sky.

According to the Sumner County Emergency Management Agency, dispatch centers have been inundated with calls about smoke in the area.

Mt. Juliet also said residents are experiencing an odor of smoke.

Other affected areas include Davidson, Williamson, Maury and Rutherford counties. The smoke may be bothersome to some, such as the elderly, children or those with respiratory issues.
