Woman extracted from vehicle after crash south of downtown Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A woman was injured in a crash south of downtown Nashville early Thursday morning.

The crash occurred on Fourth Avenue South near the City Cemetery around 2 a.m.

Metro police told us the woman was driving when she drifted off the road and struck a utility pole, spinning her around.

The pole reportedly trapped her inside her car and she had to be extracted from the vehicle.

She was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

No additional information was immediately released.
