Truck T-boned, flips near downtown Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Part of Charlotte Avenue in downtown Nashville was closed for several hours Thursday morning while authorities cleaned up a crash.

The crashed happened just before 1 a.m. on Charlotte Avenue near Dr. D.B Todd Boulevard.

Metro police told News 2 a car was speeding across D.B. Todd Blvd. when it hit the truck in the passenger side. The truck flipped onto its roof.

The driver of the car took off running from the scene. Two other people in the car, who happened to be students at Fisk University, were allowed to leave.

Metro police have identified the driver and are looking for them.

The driver of the truck told News 2 he had just gotten off work and was going to get ice cream before going home.

No additional information was immediately released.
