CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A 99-year-old Clarksville woman cast her vote for president on Election Day.

With her daughters by her side, Eileen Weatherford voted for the person she thinks should be the next leader of the United States.

She told News 2 she first voted in the 1930s when Franklin D. Roosevelt was running for the White House.

“Some people called him Rooosevelt,” she recalled.

Weatherford’s daughters said they were emotional as they watched their mother vote.

“Pride in her, pride in as we watch her and are able to give her what she wants,” explained daughter Judy Williams.

Around 33,000 people participated in early voting in Montgomery. Like most Tennessee counties, the polls remain open until 7 p.m. in Montgomery County.
