BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (WKRN) — Students at the Gardner School of Brentwood celebrated Election Day by casting their votes.
The children ranged in age from 6 weeks to 5 years and were voting on which snack to eat for snack time.
School officials say the mock election aims to teach the preschoolers the importance of voting.
“It gets them excited about the election, they understand the process of voting and why we vote and the importance of it and it just creates a sense of respect for our country and everyone who goes out and votes, said Rachel McCormick.
The school was decked out in red, white, and blue — and each student received their own “I Voted” sticker.
