NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Convicted rapist Brandon Vandenburg has been transferred to an East Tennessee prison.

The former Vanderbilt University football player will attend orientation and be processed at the Bledsoe Correctional Complex in Pikeville, Tennessee, before being placed at a permanent facility.

It’s estimated he’ll stay at the prison for an 30 to 60 days.

After leaving the East Tennessee facility, he will be taken to another state prison where he will serve the remainder of his 17-year sentence.

A new mug shot is expected to be released in the near future.

Vandenburg was found guilty of raping an unconscious woman in his Vanderbilt dorm room in June 2013. A judge sentenced him to 17 years in prison just last week.
