NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Metro police were able to recover a car that was stolen from a dealership when they arrested a man at an apartment complex in north Nashville.

According to an affidavit, police checked the tags of a 2017 Nissan Altima on Sunday evening. The tags were not registered to the Altima, but to a Nissan Titan instead.

When officers checked the vehicle identification number they discovered it was one of the missing vehicles from Nashville Nissan in downtown Nashville.

Officers called for a tow truck to take the car away so it could be inspected.

As it was being towed, a man, now identified as Terious Ramey, walked up to the car and told officers his cell phone was inside the vehicle.

Ramey, 23, was placed under arrest and charged with theft of property.

He is in jail on $15,000 bond.
