NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – With Election Day around the corner, Gov. Bill Haslam joined a panel Sunday night to discuss politics and faith.
The event was held at Christ Presbyterian Church on Old Hickory Boulevard, and News 2’s Samantha Fisher was the moderator.
Others on the panel included former Obama White House and campaign staffer Michael Wear and Scott Sauls, the senior pastor at Christ Presbyterian Church.
One of the topics they addressed was how politics impacts religion.
Gov. Haslam shared his take on the matter saying, “As believers, the one thing that we are clearly called to– we are called to a lot– the one thing we are definitely called to is humility. If we would be the people to interject humility into these discussions, it may just start to change the tone in a bigger way.”
