NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A woman was arrested for allegedly driving the getaway car for a wanted suspect in a north Nashville shooting.

Metro police reported Gloria Phelps, 61, was charged as an accessory to the crime for driving a man to Danny’s Market on County Hospital Road just before Noon on Friday.

The victim told police a man approached him and tried to rob him after he put his 1-year -old daughter in the car.

According to video obtained by News 2, the victim tried running away and that is when he was shot.

Police said Phelps admitted to driving the suspect to the market and then fleeing the scene with the shooter after he opened fire on another customer.

According to an arrest record, Phelps was seen next to a silver SUV when police found it blocks away. It matched the description of the vehicle seen in the surveillance video outside of Danny’s Market.

Phelps told police the suspected shooter got out of the car in a nearby neighborhood and that she did not know him. However, records show she never called police after the shooting.

Phelps was booked into the Metro jail and her bond was set at $25,000.

Police are still looking for the suspected gunman. Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME.
