SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a seat belt protected a driver from serious injuries after he was involved in a rollover crash Saturday morning.
Smokey Barn News reported that the accident happened around 7 a.m. on Highway 161 near Corbin Creek Greenhouse in Springfield.
The 23-year-old driver says he dozed off while driving, causing his Ford Ranger XLT to keep going straight when he reached a curve in the road.
The truck then ran off the roadway, struck an embankment, and overturned.
The driver was not seriously hurt and did not need medical attention.
According to the THP, the driver said he was working two jobs. He had left one, got some sleep and was on the way to the next when he fell asleep behind the wheel.
