World Series MVP lives right here in Middle Tennessee

Ben Zobrist

FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WKRN) – Many people may not realize it, but the MVP of this year’s World Series lives in Middle Tennessee.

Ben Zobrist was born and raised in Illinois and now plays for his home state, but his official home is Franklin.

The three-time All-Star won his second straight World Series Wednesday night. He was with the Royals last year.

But his exceptional post season and game-winning hit this time around earned him the MVP status as well as a brand new car.

All of this while ending the Cubs’ 108-year drought. It’s the stuff dreams are made of.

“The one about made me pass out,” Zobrist said. “I felt like the way that the series has been up and down, and then Game 7 here, the elation of getting up early in the game and feeling like we have the game… Man, it was just an epic battle.”
