PADUCAH, Ky. (WKRN) – A man and woman from California were arrested in Kentucky Wednesday after officers reportedly found 61 pounds of marijuana in their truck during a traffic stop.
Kentucky State Police reported troopers stopped a 2011 Dodge Ram truck on Interstate 24 near mile marker 16 around 4:30 p.m. for a traffic violation.
Troopers with a K-9 searched the truck and discovered approximately 61 pounds of high-grade marijuana along with $2,737 in cash, according to Kentucky State Police.
The driver of the truck, Joseph Heyden, 32, of Eureak, California was charged with trafficking marijuana greater than five pounds. His passenger, Hannah Silva, 35, of Oakland, California, was charged with complicity to traffic in marijuana greater than five pounds.
Heyden and Silva were booked into the McCracken County Detention Center.
