RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – As a K-9 officer for the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, Ethel used her keen sense of smell to save dozens of lives.
When the bloodhound developed a mysterious lump on her nose, her handler was concerned.
It turned out to be a Stage 1 cancerous tumor, but thanks to the kindness of the community and doctors from Blue Pearl Veterinary Partners, Ethel is now on the mend.
She underwent 16 treatments at Sandy Springs Hospital and has gotten a good report.
Since she’s returned from Georgia, her handler been taking her around town to visit members of the community.
