I-40 West reopens after someone jumps from overpass at Elm Hill Pike

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Someone died after jumping from a Nashville interstate overpass at Elm Hill Pike in Donelson Wednesday night.

The incident has shut down Interstate 40 through the area, causing serious traffic delays between Donelson Pike and Old Hickory Boulevard.

It’s unclear at this time why the person jumped, but police confirmed to News 2 the victim died. An identity has not been released.

Metro police remain on the scene to investigate. Further details have not been released.

Westbound lanes were closed until after 11 p.m.
