NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A Nashville man is back behind bars after Metro police say he hit a bicyclist on Oct. 7 and left the scene.

Ricky Escue, 52, who police call a “habitual motor vehicle offender,” is charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, driving on a revoked license, cocaine possession, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Authorities say Jenn McCombs, 33, was riding her bike on 28th Avenue North near Poston Avenue when she was hit from behind by a gold Cadillac Esclade at a high rate of speed.

The driver didn’t stop. McCombs was taken to Vanderbilt’s hospital for treatment and has since been released.

Metro police’s hit-and-run unit investigated the accident and identified Escue as the driver.

Escue had been staying at the Cumberland Inn on Trinity Lane where he was taken into custody on Wednesday. Police say he was in possession of cocaine.

He is being held in lieu of $12,000 bond.

Metro police say he has four prior DUI convictions.
