Victim fires back after robbery in northwest Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Metro police are investigating after a robbery turned into a shootout in northwest Nashville.

The incident happened just before Midnight on 31st Avenue North near John A. Merritt Boulevard.

According to Metro police, a man and a woman were standing outside their car when they were approached by two men. The two men took a money clip and the woman’s purse.

As the two suspects were running away, the woman pulled out a gun and started shooting at the two robbers.

Metro police said the two men returned fire before getting away. No one was hit but a bullet did hit the woman’s car.

Authorities said she drove her car to a nearby gas station and called for help.

No arrests have been made.
