NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Two Maplewood High School students are accused of carrying a loaded gun on campus Tuesday.

Metro police said school security was conduction a random search in a classroom where the gun was found in a backpack.

The students, both 17, reportedly denied possessing the weapon but were seen carrying the backpack earlier.

Their identities will not be released since they are minors.

According to authorities, the gun was reported stolen in June from a vehicle on Pueblo Drive in Madison.
