NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Country group Little Big Town says that superstar Taylor Swift wrote their newly released single “Better Man.”
The group said they tried to keep the country-turned-pop superstar’s role in the song under wraps.
“To all the people that we told little white lies to, we said a young girl from Nashville, Tennessee, wrote this – so we did – that was the truth,” Karen Fairchild said.
Fairchild said it was important for fans and listeners to hear the song first without knowing Swift wrote it.
“Better Man,” which was recently released, was already a hit on country radio before the Swift connection came out.
The group said they didn’t ask Swift where the inspiration for the song came from, but they said they believe it has a universal message.
Also on Tuesday, Little Big Town announced their residency at the historic Ryman Auditorium next year. They are set to perform six shows at the venue beginning in late February.
