Nashville, Tenn. (WKRN) – A truck driver says he had to drive his truck away from a delivery to avoid being robbed early Monday morning in south Nashville.

The alleged attempted robbery happened on 4th Avenue South just south of downtown Nashville.

The truck driver told Metro Nashville Police he was waiting to make a delivery at a business when two men jumped on the side of the truck and demanded the driver open the door.

That’s when the driver said he started driving his tractor trailer. The men either fell or jumped off the cab, the driver said.

The driver eventually stopped on Nolensville Road near the Tennessee State Fairgrounds.

Police are still investigating.
