NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN)– It’s more than just about candy and costumes this Halloween at St. Bernard Academy in Nashville.
It’s also about food and lots of it!
Students and staff have been collecting non-perishable food items for the News 2 Food 2 Families Food Drive.
It benefits Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. Students collected almost 1,600 items.
They celebrated those numbers Monday during an assembly called the Monster Mash.
“This food drive is important because SBA, during this food drive, is all about coming together as a community and a school and helping others,” said 8th grader Ella Kopperud.
All schools participating in the News 2 Food 2 Family School Food Drive are competing for cash prizes from Kroger and cornerstone financial.
