Man pulled over for running stop sign arrested on drug charges

FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man was arrested on drug charges after he was stopped by Franklin police over the weekend for a traffic violation.

Franklin police said they initially pulled over Dej-Avery Williams after he reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign at Chestnut Lane and Maple Drive.

During the stop, police seized 94 grams of marijuana, $2,000 in cash and a digital scale.

Williams, 20, was taken into custody and is charged with possession of a schedule six drug for resale, resisting arrest, failure to maintain a lane of travel and disobeying a traffic control device.

He has since been released on a $7,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 10.
