MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — If you’re still hoping to get Halloween décor or a costume, you may be in luck! You can really stretch your dollar on the holiday before the trick or treating begins. As scary as it may be, Halloween is just a few days away now.
If you’re still looking to pick up a costume or home décor, you may be able to get it all done this weekend without spending a lot of money. Beth Derubbo is a Floral Designer at Michaels and says all Halloween and Fall items are now 70% off.
“You can pull together for your children a little princess tutu, and a cute little shirt and for a little boy you can turn him into batman for under $5,” she said.
You can also stretch your dollar on décor to greet trick-or-treaters or creative spreads if you’re hosting guests. Or you can stop into a Goodwill store to save money, they have full costumes, pieces of costumes, or you can put one together yourself. Here’s one store associates put together. It’s a little cowgirl costume, under ten bucks.
“From a couple of dollars on up. We have such a mix and array of costumes, you can or we can help you build your own character costume, we have headpieces, pirate hats, princess hats,” said Suzanne Lewis, the a manager at Goodwill.
Or if you want to help others save a buck, you can also donate your old Halloween costumes to Goodwill so your neighbors can enjoy it who may not have the resources to buy brand new costumes.
