Passengers pepper-sprayed during fight on MTA bus

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A bus driver for Nashville’s MTA attempted to break up a fight between passengers Friday afternoon.

Metro police told News 2 there was a lover’s quarrel the driver was trying to bring to a halt.

Authorities were called to Gallatin Pike South near Briley Parkway at 12:35 p.m., where the bus appeared to have pulled over.

Someone sprayed pepper spray during the altercation, but it was not clear who. According to officers at the scene, other passengers were hit with some of the pepper spray.

No one was injured, and no charges have been filed.

The passengers were eventually transferred to another bus to continue their route.
