NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A family of four was able to escape their south Nashville home that was significantly damaged in a fire early Friday morning.
The fire began on Tobylynn Drive off Old Hickory Boulevard around 3:45 a.m.
Fire officials told News 2 the family and their dog were awakened to the sound of the smoke alarm.
The family was able to flee from the home by the time fire crews arrived.
The homeowner initially attempted to fight the fire with a water hose before calling 911.
Firefighters battled the fire near the roof and cut holes in it for ventilation.
No one was injured in the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
