Police: Inmate found dead from overdose in Kentucky jail cell

HICKMAN, Ky. (WKRN) – An inmate died after he possibly overdosed inside his cell at a Kentucky detention facility Wednesday morning.

The Kentucky State Police reported 26-year-old Kyle Combs, of Lost Creek, Kentucky, was found inside his cell at the Fulton County Detention Center.

Combs was reportedly found in a semi-conscious state during a routine cell check around 10:30 a.m.

A preliminary investigation shows Combs may have overdosed on an unknown drug while in custody.

Detectives with the Kentucky State Police are investigating how Combs may have obtained the drug.

No additional information was immediately released.
