Residents, pets escape Murfreesboro duplex fire

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) – Murfreesboro fire crews responded to a duplex fire Thursday.

The fire occurred just before 7 p.m. in the 1000 block of Todd Court.

When crews arrived at the scene, they discovered a fire at the back of the duplex.

According to Captain Tracy Summar, crews were able to extinguish the fire and keep it from damaging the other unit.

All of the duplex residents were able to escape without injury. Three dogs and one cat also survived the fire.

The fire appears to have started on the back patio, according to officials.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
