COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN)  – A couple turned themselves in to authorities on Thursday after they were indicted for multiple sex offenses that allegedly occurred nearly a decade ago while they volunteered at a church.

Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation began investigating Travis and Traci Puckett in February 2015.

During the course of the investigation, agents, according to a release, developed information connecting the couple to multiple sexual offenses involving a minor teen in 2007.

On Monday, the Clay County Grand Jury returned indictments charging Travis Puckett with nine counts of statutory rape by an authority figure and charging Traci Puckett with four counts statutory rape by an authority figure.

Travis is being held on a $45,000 bond, while Traci is being held on a $20,000 bond at the Clay County jail.

The charges are in addition to three counts of statutory rape by an authority figure and three counts of sexual battery by an authority figure secured by TBI agents for Travis in Overton County last month in connection to this ongoing investigation.
