DICKSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – A brush fire in Dickson County came dangerously close to homes Wednesday night.
It started on a hill about 50 feet high around 5:30 p.m. near the Coon Creek Road and Eno Road area.
According to officials on the scene, the brush fire started with someone burning debris in their yard. High wind then caused it to spread out of control.
Overall, around 35 acres of land were burned. Homeowners feared the fire would spread onto their properties; however, it was contained and no houses were damaged.
The fire comes after officials across Middle Tennessee in various cities and counties have placed burn bans due to the recent dry weather.
