FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (WKRN) – A Fort Campbell housing community, Campbell Crossings, is joining police in hosting a National Night Out event Tuesday.
It’s being held in conjunction with the annual Fall Festival in the hopes of heightening crime awareness and prevention as well as strengthening police-community partnerships.
“If you recognize your neighbors, if you recognize the police and fire department that you work with, it helps you stay safe, it helps you stay aware,” said John Bredehoeft, project director for Campbell Crossing, the housing community.
Soldiers and their families can enjoy fun for all ages, including face painting, trick or treating, a pumpkin patch, K-9 demonstrations, child ID kits, and more.
The event began at 3 p.m. Tuesday and will continue through 6 p.m. at the Village Commons at Hammond Heights at 3065 Forrest Road.
