3 accused of trying to steal TV from Walmart in Mt. Juliet

MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) – Three people were arrested after Mt. Juliet police say they were spotted trying to carry a TV out of Walmart.

It happened as an officer was reportedly completing paperwork behind the business on Pleasant Grove Road around 6:40 p.m.

The officer witnessed three men leave the emergency exit while pushing a $628 TV in a cart. When he tried to stop them, they reportedly dropped the TV and ran.

The suspects were chased for about half a mile until additional officers arrived to help take them into custody.

Mt. Juliet police say one suspect, identified as 19-year-old Mason Dobbs of Nashville, was tased “due to his resistive behavior.” Dobbs faces charges of theft, evading arrest, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The second suspect, Erik Moreno, 20, of Hermitage, faces the same charges along with one count of simple possession after officers say they found marijuana on his person.

The third suspect is a 17-year-old from Old Hickory. He faces charges of theft and evading arrest.
