Hendersonville police arrest 4 in false robbery report

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Four people were arrested for a false robbery report Monday in Hendersonville.

Police were initially told the crime occurred at 1:47 a.m. on the 170 block of West Main Street. Following an investigation, police determined the report was false.

Authorities arrested 21-year-old Justin Smith and a 17-year-old for theft under $500. Michael Komoll, 34, was charged with filing a false police report.

Smith has a $3,000 bond while Komoll’s is $4,000.

A fourth man was arrested after police determined he was involved in car burglaries in the Wessington Place area.

Austin Whittum, 19, was charged with four counts of theft under $500, possession of drug paraphernalia, five counts of burglary and one count of theft over $1,000.

His bond has been set at $12,000 and he is expected to appear in count on Nov. 23.
