2 suspects arrested after shooting, attempted robbery in east Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Two people have been arrested after an attempted robbery left two people shot in Inglewood.

Officers responded to Chase Street off Cahal Avenue around 1:30 p.m. on Monday. Metro Nashville Police said the two men went up to a work truck and demanded the three men inside to get out. The driver tried to take off, but the two men, identified as Chi’Cory Ward and Kwondrell Johnson, started shooting.

The driver of the truck was shot in the leg. He is expected to recover.

Ward and Johnson both face numerous charges including aggravated robbery and especially aggravated robbery.

No additional details have been released at this time.
