SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. (WKRN) – A Springfield man was killed in a motorcycle accident as he was leaving a friend’s house Saturday night.

According to Smokey Barn News, 38-year-old Jamie England was heading toward Tom Austin Highway on William Batson Parkway when he drifted left on his motorcycle and ran into the center concrete median head-on.

This caused England and his bike to tumble and land in the middle of the road. A passing motorist spotted the wreckage and called for help.

Smokey Barn News reports that England had just left his friend’s house only five minutes earlier.

Officials say England died at the scene and was not wearing a helmet. They are working to determine the exact cause of the crash, but there were reportedly no signs of alcohol or speeding.
