Man shot in the face at Antioch business, suspect arrested

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man is recovering after a shooting at Kat’s Bar and Grille on Bell Road in Antioch.

Metro police responded to the call just after 1 a.m. Friday.

Kat’s was closing for the night when one customer refused to leave the business. When an employee of the restaurant ordered that person to leave, the conversation escalated into a shoving match, according to police.

Metro police said the employee pulled a gun and fired one shot that grazed the customer’s face. The victim was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with minor injuries and is expected to recover.

The employee went home after the shooting but was taken into custody a short time later.

John Parks, the employee that shot the man, has been charged with aggravated assault and a felony in possession of a handgun.

He is scheduled to be in court on Tuesday, Oct. 25.
