Cory Curtis’ Fantasy Football picks: Oct. 20, 2016

It’s Thursday night and that means the Fantasy Football weekend starts tonight…

So here you go, my picks for the week…

QB – Marcus Mariota – 7 total TD’s the last 2 weeks and a struggling Browns defense.

QB – Kirk Cousins – The Lions got lit up by Case Keenum… That’s a pretty good sign, but monitor the Redskins injury situation.

QB – Matt Ryan – Yes, he’s always a must start, however in daily fantasy I really feel like he’s worth the price this week. Hosting the Chargers I’m looking for big numbers.

WR – Julio Jones – He’s a great double-up with Ryan this week. He could push 200 yards again.

WR – Cameron Meredith – He’s obviously got good chemistry with Brian Hoyer in that Bears offense. Ride that hot hand.

WR – Kendall Wright – No, I don’t expect 8 rec. and 133 yards again. What I like though was the explosiveness he showed and how Mariota was clearly looking for him in the 4th quarter.

RB – Demarco Murray – Anything less than 100 yards and a TD against a Colts team that was gashed by the Bears and Texans will be a disappointment. *PLAY OF THE WEEK*

RB – Devontae Freeman – I love this matchup with the Chargers in the Dome. Yes, he loses touches to Coleman, but I look for him to get 5-6 receptions as an outlet against the Chargers pass rush.

RB – Legarrette Blount – The Steelers gave up 200 yards to Jay Ajayi, that tells me about all I need to know.

TE – Delanie Walker – The Titans don’t have a good history against the Colts, but Walker does. Expect a big bounce back.

TE – Travis Kelce – He’s also good for 6 rec. and 60 yards, but against the Saints in KC I also expect a score.

TE – Hunter Henry – He’s become a trusted target of Phillip Rivers and in a game I expect to be a shootout, he should deliver.

DEF – Titans – 18 sacks this season and facing a Colts team that’s given up a league high 23 of them.

DEF – Ravens – Geno Smith and the Jets… Merry X-Mas.

QB – Russell Wilson – Yes, he’s still the man in the 4th, but he has not delivered the numbers this season and I don’t trust him to bust out in the desert.

QB – Sam Bradford – A ton of pressure on his shoulders heading back to Philly against a team that needs to bounce back. I don’t like it.

RB – Jay Ajayi – If you think he’ll do it 2 weeks in a row with the red hot Bills in town you have more faith than I do.

RB – Melvin Gordon – Yep, among the league leaders in scores, but I expect the Chargers to go up top in this one. His touches could be limited as they play from behind. I’ll admit, he’s still a start unless you’ve got an attractive matchup.

WR – Jordan Matthews – It’s difficult to start anyone against that Vikings defense. It could be a tough night for Carson Wentz as well.

TE – Coby Fleener – I just don’t trust him, especially outside of the Dome. Look for more consistent options.
