Survey finds Halloween candy favorites differ by state

KNOXVILLE , Tenn. (WATE) – Halloween is almost here and stores are stocking their shelves with candy.

Sweets will make 94.3 percent of Halloween purchases in the U.S. this year, according to the National Retail Federation. conducted a survey of 40,000 people to determine which candies were popular in different states. The top candy in Tennessee, according to the survey is candy corn. Several other states, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas and Wyoming, also claimed candy corn as their favorite, too.

Oct. 30 is National Candy Corn Day.

Here is a look at each state’s favorite candy:
