NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A Metro police officer was dragged more than 20 feet by an all terrain vehicle outside Nissan Stadium Saturday night.

Officers received reports of multiple ATVs driving through the parking lot after the Tennessee State University homecoming game around 10:20 p.m.

Metro police reported the officer initially stopped an ATV driven by 32-year-old Dennis Dickson Jr. and informed him ATVs were prohibited on the property.

When Dickson turned the ATV back on as if to flee, the officer attempted to stop him but Dickson broke away and dragged the officer 25 feet through the lot, according to police.

Dickson was taken into custody by the officer after he reportedly stopped the ATV and attempted to run away.

The officer suffered minor injuries to his knee and refused medical treatment.

Dickson was booked into the Metro jail and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bond was set at $50,000.
