NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man has died after he was ejected from a rollover crash on Interstate 65 South near Brentwood early Sunday morning.
The single-vehicle crash happened near the Old Hickory Boulevard exit around 4:30 a.m.
Metro police told News 2 the 25-year-old driver veered off the interstate, rolled his car and was thrown from the vehicle.
The man was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.
Police said the driver was talking and moving when first responders arrived but his condition quickly declined.
Officers are investigating to determine if the driver had fallen asleep at the wheel before the crash.
Police closed all southbound lanes of I-65 near Old Hickory Boulevard around 6:30 a.m. as investigators worked to recreate the crash scene.
No additional information was immediately released.
