NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – New Predators superstar PK Subban scored Nashville’s first goal of the season, and the Predators beat the rival Chicago Blackhawks 3-2 in their season opener Friday night at Bridgestone Arena.

Chicago saw 1-0 and 2-1 leads disappear as the Preds scored three times on the power play. Subban tied the game at 1-1 in the first period on a slapshot. Later in the first period, Roman Josi scored on the power play to tie the game at 2-2.

In the second period, the Preds were back on the power play when captain Mike Fisher redirected another shot from Josi to give Nashville a lead it never gave up.

Marcus Kruger and Niklas Hjalmarsson scored for Chicago, but Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne made 22 saves for the win.

The Predators and Blackhawks play again Saturday night in Chicago.
