Suspects sought in brutal beating outside Springfield Waffle House

SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man was hospitalized after he was brutally beaten outside a Springfield Waffle House Wednesday night.

It happened at the location on Memorial Boulevard around 11 p.m.

According to Smokey Barn News, the victim was attacked by as many as five men who beat and kicked him until he reportedly lost consciousness.

Springfield police believe that at one point during the attack the victim may have been hit on the head with a milk crate.

Smokey Barn News reported three good Samaritans inside the restaurant witnessed the beating and intervened, causing the suspects to run away.

Springfield police told Smokey Barn News after the fight, one of the good Samaritans allegedly caused a scene inside the Waffle House and was taken into custody for disorderly conduct.

The victim was reportedly unable to provide any information about the suspects or motive for the beating.

Police have not released any suspect descriptions, but believe they may have been traveling in two vehicles, a gray or silver Chevy Impala and a Nissan Altima.
