Man charged with stealing $1.6K worth of seafood, beer from Kroger

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly stealing seafood, meat and beer from a south Nashville Kroger.

Metro police reported Calvin Everett, 52, was seen on surveillance video at the East Thompson Lane location, on Sept. 21.

Everett allegedly walked in and out of the store at least three times without paying for items.

According to an affidavit, Everett took 12 packs of snow crab, four packs of shrimp, 28 packs of chicken, three cases of beer, six packs of spare ribs, five packs of steaks, eight packs of sausage, five packs of pork chops, two packs of bacon and one roll of paper towels.

The store estimated the value of the items taken totaled $1,685.

According to an arrest report, Everett has been banned from shopping at Kroger due to previous thefts.

Everett was booked into the Metro jail and charged with felony theft. His bond was set at $15,000.
