BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (WKRN) — Due to drought conditions in the area, Brentwood fire officials have temporarily stopped issuing burn permits and are prohibiting open burning until the next significant rainfall.

Commercial businesses using air curtain destructors under supervised, controlled environments are exempt from the ban.

The city joins surrounding areas like Murfreesboro, Smyrna, and several area counties in issuing the ban.

Brentwood officials will continue to monitor conditions and notify residents and businesses when the ban on burning is lifted.
