GM adding 3rd shift, 650 jobs at Spring Hill plant

SPRING HILL, Tenn. (WKRN) – General Motors announced its plans to add a third shift and 650 new jobs to their Spring Hill plant Tuesday.

The new shift is expected to begin in January and will help increase output of the recently launched Cadillac XT5 and GMA Acadia.

“This is outstanding news for our entire Spring Hill workforce and the Middle Tennessee area,” said Spring Hill’s UAW Local 1853 Chairman Mike Herron.

The GM Spring Hill manufacturing plant is located on 2,100 acres in Spring Hill, about 40 miles south of Nashville.

Currently, the facility employees 3,300 people.
