Father’s body recovered from Tennessee lake after Saturday drowning

CELINA, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man’s body was recovered from Dale Hollow Lake near the Kentucky border on Monday.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office said the victim drowned Saturday afternoon in the body of water not far from Celina and just north of Livingston.

According to a press release, a father and son were in the water when they flagged down fishermen for help. The fishermen saved the boy but were unable to rescue the father.

The man’s identity has not been released at this time.

Clay County Emergency Management, Clay County Sheriff’s Office, TWRA, Overton County EMA, Overton County Rescue Squad, as well as rescue squads from Cumberland and Barron counties in Kentucky all assisted in the recovery efforts.
