NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The morning drop off line at Montgomery Bell Academy became more like the food drop off line Friday.

That’s because students, staff and parents have been collecting food all week as part of the News 2 Food 2 Families food drive benefiting Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.

“We all know where our next meal is coming from, but people who are less fortunate they don’t so i think it’s a good project for MBA to do because we can make a difference and make sure that those people know that they have food,” said junior Thomas Derohce.

The amount being collected at MBA is so large, Second Harvest parked a truck there for the food drive.

Schools participating in the drive are competing for cash prizes from Kroger and Cornerstone Financial.
