Police looking for driver after deadly hit-and-run in Antioch

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man was killed after he was hit by a car that fled the scene in Antioch late Wednesday night.

According to Metro police, the crash happened on Murfreesboro Pike near Hamilton Church Pike around 11:15 p.m.

A witness who saw the crash went to a nearby fire hall and alerted firefighters.

The 37-year-old victim, identified as Colorado native John Mongillo, died at the scene. Police say there are indications he had been drinking.

Metro police found the car involved in the accident after it was abandoned in a church parking lot on Mt. View Road. However, the driver has not been located.
