Crews battle house fire south of downtown Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Crews were called to a house at a duplex fire south of downtown Nashville Thursday morning.

The fire was reported in the 100 block of Third Avenue South around 6:45 a.m.

No one was home when the fire began.

Fire officials told News 2 the home was being renovated and were able to knock the fire down quickly.

Smoke could be seen billowing across the city for miles.

The cause of the fire is under investigation but investigators said the home did have electricity.
