NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The most expensive hotel rooms in the country could be located right here in Music City.
According to a study by CheapHotels.org, the average cost of a 3-star hotel centrally located near a major city is $261 in Nashville during the month of October.
These are “double room” prices.
Boston, Washington DC, San Francisco and Portland, Oregon round out the top five cities.
Memphis is 23rd on the list with rates nearly half those found in Nashville.
Butch Spyridon, president and CEO, Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp, explained that October is the busiest month, which equates to higher rates.
Spyridon has been critical of hotel prices across Nashville in the past but said the 3,000-plus rooms currently under construction should make prices more competitive.
