NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Hendersonville native Josef Newgarden is on the move. He’s joining Penske Racing in 2017.
Newgarden finished fourth last season driving for Ed Carpenter Racing. It was easily the most successful season of his career as he notched his third career win and finished sixth or better eight times.
While Newgarden finished fourth overall, the Penske Team finished 1-2-3 in the standings and now boast the top four drivers from last season.
Newgarden is the first American to drive for Penske since Sam Hornish Jr. in 2007.
